Love & Greetings from The Tippy

Today was our official moving day.

We got to the house around 2 o'clock. Daddy got a great deal on this house for us to rent. You're probably wondering about the title of this post?! Well, the floor slants one way in the living room and another way in the kitchen, so we've nicknamed it The Tippy.

We had a lot of people show up. Many of them brought food for us:) It is starting to feel more like home although it is positively FREEZING in the house. When we got there, there was no heat. There hasn't been any propane in the tank for over a year so we have to have an inspection done. There can't be an inspection until the wiring for the hot water heater is fixed. We did get some space heaters, and the sunroom is warm, but for tonight, we will be staying at Zach & Jenny's. They are in OH because her brother Jacob was announced to Bethany Miller from Mansfield.

We had many wonderful people come to help us unpack. We have many many thank yous to give out but we especially want to thank the WONDERFUL people in Atlanta who are finishing cleaning up what was left at our old house.

Monday morning

Hi, Julie here. We are just getting ready to go exploring--find the Grabill library and who knows what else. I printed off a few maps, so we'll see. But first over to the Tippy, to warm up some soup and check on Jake, who by the way, was a great traveler and good sport! We gave him some pills from the vet and he rode in his cat carrier. At the hotel, he was well-behaved and let us get our sleep and then he's just been so sweet since we arrived in all the chaos. It was wonderful to have the warm sunny sunroom to put him in and be able to close the door and keep him out of the way.

Please continue to pray for the sale of our house. My dad called from GA and said that another empty house on our road there was vandalized and a whole bunch of wires were cut out. I guess people steal it to sell for the copper!? I was pretty freaked out about that, but since there is nothing we can do about it anyway, we are praying that God will take care of it all. He showed me Psalm 4 yesterday, "Stand in awe and sin not...offer the sacrifices of righteousness and put your trust in the Lord."

Yesterday, we went to Jeff and Tina Schumacher's for supper and the evening. This weekend, Olivia is in a play--Jane Eyre, that we hope to go see, and next Sunday, is our first rotating potluck.

Mark was able to get hold of the landlord's manager and he is working on getting heat in the house. They are hopeful it will be by tomorrow. I wasn't expecting it until later this week!

We still need a water softener, because the water is so hard here. Also, the former renters left two lawn mowers, one with a flat tire. Not sure if either of them work, but we are going to have to bale hay in the backyard when we first mow. I don't think the enclosed backyard has been mowed for at least a year!
