Zach just called this week and told us he has been diagnosed with cancer. He has a tumor in his colon and it has probably already spread. They are meeting with specialists and deciding the course of treatment, but he is probably looking at chemo, radiation and surgery.
Please pray for them during this difficult time. Also, Cassie Bertsch, Zach's sister, lives in Athens, and it must be hard for her to be so far away.
(Mark lived with Zach and Jenny Bertsch when he first moved up to Leo. Zach was the business manager at Gateway whose position Mark was filling. Zach's new job is at the AC nursing home in Bluffton. They just moved back to Bluffton in May. They have two small children, Zion and Moriah.)
